ü  MCM, TRAIL HEAD ON MAIN STREET TO COVE MOUNTAIN SHELTER AND BACK, 8 miles, Rugged, Fast-pace, start 9:30 AM, expected return 1:00 PM. If driving, park at Rock Kat lot and walk to start point.Register here.

ü  BIRD WALK ALONG SHERMAN’S CREEKwith National Audubon Society Professional Naturalist Paul Zeph.  Start point Recycling Parking area. If driving, park at available parking area in Duncannon (see map) and ride shuttle (10:00 AM) to start point. Easy strolling, no birding experience needed, all ages, limit 25 hikers.  Start time 10:30, expected return 11:30 - noon, depending on group.  Some binoculars available for loan.Register here.

ü  HALDEMAN ISLAND HIKE, 
Join Scott Bills of the PA Game Commission on a guided 2-mile Haldeman Island birding hike sponsored by Susquehanna Appalachian Trail Club. Usually closed to the public, this 990-acre island is managed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission for waterfowl and served as a rearing location for young eagles brought to PA from Canada as part of the eagle restoration area. Bring binoculars and wear light-colored clothing and hiking boots. Must register with hike leader in advance - 25 participant max. Email Kim McKee atkmckee@appalachiantrail.org.
MEET at 8:00AM at the Haldeman Island parking area, accessible off PA 11/15 N just north and across from Ranch House Restaurant, Duncannon. Follow the driveway back to parking. 
 ü  SUSQUEHANNA ROVERS VOLKSMARCH CLUB, A MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN VOLKSSPORT WALKING CLUBS ASSOCIATION

5k and 10k (3.1 and 6.2 miles respectively) self-guided walks along the Appalachian Trail through Duncannon (maps and directions provided).
